Duo arrested for alleged possession and manufacturing of counterfeit money

DE AAR – The Sunrise SAPS arrested two male suspects for possession and manufacturing of suspected counterfeit money.

On 14 October 2019, at about 15:00, the police followed up on information and confiscated some manufacturing equipment and alleged counterfeit R100 money notes, after raiding the house of the suspects, situated in Barcelona, De Aar.

The suspects, aged 25 and 27 have appeared in the De Aar District Court during October 2019 and their case was postponed to December 2019.

Both suspects were granted bail of R300. Anyone with information can call Detective Sergeant Willy Isaacs on 053 632 6100 or 067 749 9438. The investigation continues.

Members of the community and in particular the business community, are urged to be vigilant not to be victims of counterfeit money.
