EASTERN CAPE – Dutywa Police are investigating a culpable homicide case. It is alleged that a 10-year-old schoolgirl was crossing the N2 road near Qhora Village, Dutywa on Monday, 20 January 2020 at about 06h50.

It is further alleged that a motor vehicle that was driven from the direction of Dutywa to Butterworth hit the learner. She passed away at the scene. The exact cause of the fatal accident is not known at this stage but under the investigation of Dutywa Police detectives.

The identity of the deceased is still being withheld until all her relatives are officially informed of her death.
