Dynamite comes in small packages

KIMBERLEY – The saying “Dynamite comes in small packages” is an understatement as displayed by Constable Amy fielding attached to the Springbok Public Order Police unit. This petite, young energetic Constable showed what she’s made of when she first successfully passed her Code 10 and PDP licence in Springbok recently. Having Code 10 was not enough for this tiny lady as she set her sights on obtaining state authority to drive a police Casper which is usually driven by male members attached to POPS units.

Constable Fielding’s determination and endurance paid off when she recently got behind the wheel of this huge SAPS Casper and successfully manoeuvred the vehicle which resulted in her receiving her state authority at the Springbok Training Centre to drive this mammoth vehicle. The Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Henriette de Waal was very impressed and left speechless when she became aware of this amazing accomplishment of Constable Fielding, stating that it’s the first for the province where a female member is authorised to drive a police Casper.
