Eastern Cape HRM recruitment roadshow for youth from rural communities

Human Resource Management in the Eastern Cape directed their roadshow to the rural communities in the Province to recruit entry level police trainees.

The recruitment drive kick-started in Willowvale today where young and vibrant young people were invited to apply.

The platform created a convenient opportunity for willing youth, as they were guided and assisted to fill the application forms. Requirements were explained in detail.

Different components and units within SAPS were part of the proceeding to showcase different careers within the SAPS.

During his welcoming address, the Butterworth Cluster Commander, Brigadier Trevor Mey described the South African Police Service as an institution of discipline.

The Provincial Section Head for Recruitment and Staffing in the Province, Lieutenant Colonel Vusumzi Madlingozi encouraged the youth to apply so that they could be exposed to different careers within the SAPS. He also unpacked the recruitment processes, which are medical test, psychometric test, integrity assessment, physical test and personal interview.

Provincial Commander of Human Resource Practice and Administration, Colonel Isak Mathassen explained that the SAPS has decided to come down to the rural communities to recruit energetic and vibrant youth.

Lieutenant Colonel Vivian Ngam, from National Recruitment, explained the requirements in detail, and indicated that the SAPS is very strict with the requirements. She further emphasized the importance and need for young vibrant females. “We encourage our young females to apply, but that does not mean that they will be going freely and easily, they will undergo the same processes of recruitment. I am not suggesting that we are overlooking males. “- she explained.

The audience had an opportunity to interact with the panel, so as to ensure clear understanding.

The recruitment drive is scheduled to continue in Maluti on Friday, 15 June 2018.
