Elliot Cluster successes

SAPS members in the Elliot Cluster embarked on several crime prevention operations during the weekend up until yesterday and had the following successes in the Cluster. The focus was on stop and search activities and the visiting of taverns and high visibility patrols.

At Maclear a suspect was arrested for possession of dagga and two shebeens were closed down and the liquor confiscated. Positive information was also followed up on an unsilenced firearm at Lower Sinxaba. A 9mm pistol of which the serial nr was removed was recovered. The suspect is a 94 year old male that alleged he bought it years ago in Cape Town. The crime prevention operation at Elliot was led by Captin Vundu and different taverns were searched and dangerous weapons confiscated.

The Cluster Commander, Colonel Gezani commended the members on the good work done and encouraged them to stay committed and dedicated to serve and protect the community.
