Elliotdale Regional Court to sentence the axe murder accused

ELLIOTDALE – The 32-year-old accused, Nowa Makula will be sentenced by the Elliotdale Regional Court on Friday, 26 March 2021 for the murder of six family members that he committed on the night of 25 November 2020 at Sidabekweni village in Elliotdale.

Makula pleaded guilty in the Elliotdale Regional Court on Thursday, 25 March and admitted that he hacked Nomzamo Mhlanti (42) to death together with her five children aged between 10 years and six-months in their sleep.

This was after Makula accused Mhlanti of having an affair. The suspect at the time flee from the scene and was subsequently arrested by the police in Ginsberg, King William’s Town. He remains in police custody until his sentencing tomorrow morning.
