GQEBERHA – On Friday 15 July 2022 at about 07:00, a fatal vehicle accident took place on the R335 (Addo Road) at the Old Grahamstown Road crossing.

A white Quantum minibus with trailer collided with a Truck (horse only) and overturned.

Two persons, a 40-year-old female and a 14-year-old male passed away on the scene.

A further 12 persons, including the driver were injured in the accident. Of the injured passengers, two were boys aged 11 and 4.

The truck driver, a 50-year-old male were uninjured in the incident.

All injured passengers were transported to different hospitals depending on their injuries which ranged from serious to medium in severity.

A case of culpable homicide was opened and is being investigated by SAPS Swartkops.
