Final salute for Constable Setloboko

Football fraternity and Eastern Cape SAPS senior management represented by DPCs Major General Kunene, Major General Dladla, Brigadier Majikijela and Brigadier Mavuka joined Setloboko family and mourners to give fitting farewell to a fallen hero, Constable Eketsang Setloboko at Mt Fletcher today.

The deceased was involved in a motor vehicle accident while on duty on 15 December 2018. He joined the SAPS on 24 January 2018 and most of his time worked as a police officer and soccer referee.

When he debuted as a ref during SAPSFA National tournament in Port Elizabeth in 2017, he was recognized as the best Referee. He worked as referee coordinator for regional football association as well as at SAPS.

DPC Maj Gen Kunene traced the members contributions, The member was stationed at Tabase SAPS and was one of our several SAFA accredited referees. He was in possession of level 6 soccer referee accreditation which allowed him to offer his services to the province as a referee. He was also a member of a panel of Safa Referees where he served as a coordinator. He also ensured that SAPS benefits from his love and dedication in the game. He was also a member of SAPSFA (SAPS Football Association) Provincial Executive Committee.”

Maj Gen Kunene consoled the family and mourners reminding them that the deceased was a shining example of good upbringing and a man who worked and thrived in observing tme and punctuality.

“He was very agile and fit, strict disciplinarian and a dedicated member of the service wgo was very punctual human being who always ensured that he was at the right time, at the right place with the right people, all the time, recalled the Deputy Provincial Commissioner.
