BUTTERWORTH – Police members last night arrested a 44-year-male for possession of unlicensed firearm and drugs.

The arrest comes after Police operationalized information about a suspect allegedly dealing in drugs and having a firearm suspected to be unlicenced at his home. Police proceeded to the identified residential premises at Mpenduza Location outside Butterworth where a search was conducted. The suspect was found in possession of drugs (69 Boss tablets, 80 x Tik straws and 67 x sachets crystal powder) and an unlicensed firearm and a magazine with two live ammunition.

The suspect will appear at Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 17 May 2021.
