Five people lose their lives in car crash

The police at Villa Nora outside Lephalale are investigating a case of Culpable Homicide after three females and two men lost their lives when a Toyota bakkie they were traveling in capsized and rolled several times.

According to information, twenty six (26) people were loaded in an open bakkie when the driver lost control along the R518 road next to Shongoane 1 and vehicle crashed. It is understood they were going for a church service at Marapong outside Lephalale.

Three people died instantly and two succumbed to injuries on arrival at Lephalale District hospital. The names of the deceased will be made known once the next-of-kin have been notified.

The cause of the accident in not known at this stage. Police investigations are continuing.
