Four bodies recovered in Mthatha

Mthatha police are looking for information that may lead to the arrest of suspects involved in the killing of a woman and three men, all with the estimated age of 27 years. They were attacked at the old Transnet houses in Napgen Street in Mthatha yesterday, 13 June 2018 at about 21:00.

It is alleged that the deceased were in their house when unknown gunmen entered and randomly fired several shots killing them instantly. It is further alleged that other people staying together with the deceased managed to escape through the window unhurt.

Motive for their killing is yet to be established. Four murder cases have been opened. Several empty cartridges of a pistol were picked from the scene. The Acting Cluster Commander, Col Majaja has described the act as barbaric and brutal. “We will leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to book.”
