Four men arrested for presumed stolen property by Grassy Park police

WESTERN CAPE � Swift response by the police attached to Grassy Park SAPS led to the arrest of four men with presumed stolen property yesterday afternoon.

The members were conducting crime prevention patrols when a complaint came through, they attended to it and saw two men jumping over a wall in Diep River, the members caught them. The police stopped a Peugeot caddy in De Wet road, Ottery and found other two men inside the vehicle.

All four men aged between 22 and 39 were arrested with stolen property, crowbar and screwdriver were also found in the vehicle. Police fired shots, no injuries were reported. One suspect was allegedly beaten by the community and is under police guard in hospital.

The suspects are facing charges of possession of presumed stolen property. They are expected to appear in court once charged.
