Mamelodi:The government has condemned the brutal and senseless killing of 14-year-old twins in Mamelodi West, Gauteng, extending its condolences to the family, friends, and classmates of the victims.
According to South African Government News Agency, the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) emphasized the importance of protecting children, stating that every child lost to violence is a loss to the future of the nation. The government stressed that safeguarding children is a shared responsibility.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) reported that the twins were found stabbed to death in their home. The incident came to light when their mother discovered the bodies upon returning from work on Friday, October 2, 2026. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the killings.

Authorities are confident that law enforcement will thoroughly investigate the case and bring those responsible to justice.
Residents of Mamelodi and nearby communities are encouraged to assist the police by providing any information that might help identify and apprehend the perpetrators. The government requests that any such information be shared directly with law enforcement rather than on social media to avoid misinformation and protect the integrity of the investigation.
