eMbongombongweni:Public Service and Administration Minister Mzamo Buthelezi will spearhead a community imbizo and government service delivery outreach programme in eMbongombongweni, Louwsburg, KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday.
According to South African Government News Agency, the programme will include distributing school shoes, bags, and 500 sanitary packs to students at Manzamhlophe High School, Dwarsrand Primary School, and Morresson Primary School. Additionally, blankets will be given to the elderly.
Residents from eMbongombongweni and nearby areas will have the opportunity to apply for identity documents and birth certificates, obtain social grants and social development services, and undergo health screenings.
Youth development is a key focus, with Momentum Metropolitan introducing its youth mentorship programmes to the community's young people.
The event will involve several departments and agencies, including the Department of Home Affairs, South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), Department of Social Development, Department of Employment and Labour, Department of Health, Government Information Services, and local government representatives.
Minister Buthelezi, responsible for the Public Service, will witness the delivery of frontline services to rural citizens. The imbizo will allow residents to directly address service delivery issues with the Minister and other government officials, aligning with the Batho Pele commitment to a responsive, citizen-centred public service.
