Harsh sentence handed down to Kagisho rapist

KIMBERLEY – The South African Police Service in the Northern Cape welcomes the sentencing that was handed down to a Kagisho man for rape. Pakisho Tsotetsi (43) was sentenced to 22 years imprisonment for rape in the Galeshewe Regional Court, today, 17 October 2019.

On 14 November 2018 the 12-year-old female victim was playing in the street close to her house when she was stopped and lured by the man. The accused took her home with him as the victim asked him for some water. Tsotetsi raped the girl inside his house. Police arrested him the same evening and he remained in custody up until his sentencing.

The SAPS Provincial Head for Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS), Brigadier Nicky Mills applauds Detective Warrant Officer Reginald Zephe of Galeshewe FCS Unit for a meticulous and assertive job done that led to the harsh sentencing.
