NORTH WEST – An intelligence driven operation by the North West Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation, assisted by members of Provincial Crime Intelligence, Brits Tactical Response Team and Local Records Criminal Centre, led to the arrest of a 51 years old suspect on Wednesday in Brits for Illegal possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
The suspect’s home was searched where an assortment of firearms and ammunition were reportedly found which included, a 9mm pistol, a shotgun, two rifles, a dart gun and a large quantity of ammunition. All exhibits were seized for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the suspect is expected to make his first appearance at the Brits Magistrate’s Court on 18 September 2020.
