Huíla – SADC Central Banks Interconnected to New Information Technologies

The chairman of the Subcommittee of the Information Technologies of the Central Banks of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), the Mozambican Arlindo Francisco Lombe, said on Wednesday in Lubango, Huíla province, that the network of the banking technological information of the member states is already interconnected.
Speaking to Angop to assess the three-day meeting of the 20th Annual Conference of the referred Subcommittee of SADC, Arlindo Lombe said that the network of the banking technological information of the region is already interconnected, which ensures more security in the operations.
He explained that the governors of SADC central banks will meet in May this year so as to assess the pace of this project and values.
“At the level of committee and subcommittees, it was held last year, five meetings and this why the meeting in may will take place in Maputo, Mozambique, aiming to define the project”, he highlighted.
The conference will take place until Friday and is discussing issues related to the strategies of plans recommended in 2014, work of the Central Bank of Mozambique and information of governance project of the information technologies and its progress.
The meeting is also discussing matters related to the proposal of model of structuring of information technologies.
SADC groups Angola, South Africa, Botswana, DR Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Mozambique, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
