Imbizo conducted by Cambridge Station Commander

Cambridge: The Safety Month activities have kick started with an Imbizo initiated by the Cambridge Station Commander Brigadier Pumla Mdlankomo in conjunction with the Department of Education, Safety and Liaison and the Ward Councillor at Lukhanyo Primary School, Amalinda Forest in East London yesterday.

This is after there has been a series of burglaries at this school where items like food, electric appliances and plumbing equipment were stolen. The Ward Councillor, Mr Mzukisi Relu was particularly perturbed by the low turnout of parents in this event because it was made to benefit them in moving the school forward. He also stressed the importance of forming strong community forums in this area to deal with the criminal elements. The question and answer session highlighted a lot of positivity and gave valuable suggestions like the principal having to give a key to the sector manager so that he is able to access the school whenever there is a problem after hours. The station commander has also made her contact numbers available to the members of the community.
