NORTHERN CAPE – Police in Upington have opened an inquest docket after a man and his two daughters aged 4 and 8 drowned in a canal on Wednesday. Their bodies were retrieved by SAPS Search and Rescue members on Thursday. The man’s body was recovered yesterday.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the man had an argument with his partner before throwing himself and the children into the canal.

Police investigation continues.
