The independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has arrested a police Officer aged 31 for a Murder of his 23 year old Girlfriend in Msombomvu Butterworth.

It is alleged that the Suspect Police Constable started assaulting the Deceased on Thursday the 7 July 2016 and only dropped her at the Hospital on Saturday night the 09 July 2016. It is further alleged that the lady was so severely assaulted that she passed away at the hospital of her injuries.

The Police officer went into hiding from then till he handed himself over to the police with his lawyer. He will appear in the Butterworth magistrate’s court this morning the 13 July 2016 on charges of murder.
