EASTERN CAPE – As part of the Safety Schools program at schools, Port Alfred’s Narcotic K9 Rolo was taken to a local school for an awareness campaign.
The Sector Manager for the farming community Warrant Officer Tommie Louw and Stations Community Policing Officer Sgt Sindy Pienaar gave a talk on safety to the children and the harmful effects of drugs. A search was conducted as part of the exercise and no drugs and dangerous weapons were found. Rolo will be used to visit more schools in the Cluster for drug and crime awareness.
The safer schools program is an intergovernmental project which aims to ensure that schools are safe for both learners and educators.
