Labour department does not sell posters

The Department of Labour has called upon employers who come across individuals selling labour law posters to report them to the police.

According to the department, a vehicle with Gauteng province registration is selling labour law posters to farmers in the Free State province.

In some instances the farmers are coerced and intimidated into buying the posters.

What makes matters worse is the fact that these individuals are masquerading as Labour Inspectors as they commit their deeds.

We want to make it unequivocally clear that under no circumstances will the Department of Labour sell labour law posters to employers. In fact, any employer can download this information from the Department of Labour website free of charge, Free State Department of Labour Head Nomfundo Douw-Jack said in a statement on Tuesday.

The department and the South African Police Service are working together to apprehend these individuals.
