KIMBERLEY – The Provincial Management in Northern Cape SAPS welcomed the life sentence handed down today to Thabang Leonard Maqhobai for the murder of his ex-girlfriend.
On 12 October 2019, Maqhobai confronted the deceased, Elsie Chabe at Ritchie about her new boyfriend. That is when Maqhobai stabbed the deceased six times, leaving her on the street to die.
The dedication and meticulous investigation of Constable Nkwe of Modderrivier detectives ensured that the perpetrator face jail time for this heinous act.
Maqhobai was found guilty on 13 March 2021 and sentenced to life imprisonment.
