Limpopo drug dealer to spend four years behind bars

LIMPOPO – Zanele Phineas Ngobeni (38) was convicted and sentenced for dealing in drugs by the Mahwelereng Regional Court on 06 May 2021.

In 2016, the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation registered a project dubbed “Dundee”. This was aimed at addressing the mushrooming of drugs in the province particularly in Mokopane and Mahwelereng areas.

The accused has been on the Hawks radar until he was arrested during the takedown operation in February 2018. Ngobeni’s attempts to be released on bail were unsuccessful until he was found guilty and sentenced to 4 years imprisonment with no option of a fine.
