Limpopo Provincial Commissioner visits SABC’s Thobela FM Radio Studio addressing listerners on crime

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Jim Ledwaba, has yesterday on 05 April 2019 from 18:30 to 19:00 addressed listeners concerning criminal tendencies through the radio.

This interview was conducted in their Polokwane studio during a special program to honour him (the Provincial Commissioner) on the role he is playing to the general public on daily basis in the fight against crime.

The General was live-interviewed particularly on the reasons why he opted to become a police officer, the career journey he travelled in the SAPS since he joined the service in January 1984 as a student Constable until to date as Lieutenant General at the level of a Provincial Commissioner. The leadership role he is applying in the fight against crime in the province was also highlighted.

General Ledwaba, outlined the mandate and responsibilities of the Police in any case until the case is referred to the Justice department. He reiterated his words of appreciation to members of the community on a strong and healthy partnership which prevail in the Province which continue to contribute effectively in the tremendous achievement made by the Police consistently.

The Provincial Commissioner has further explained his effective participation in the school safety campaigns which is encouraging members of the Police irrespective of rank from all level of command, to put child safety first and to ensure that the learning environment is always safe.

During the interview, listeners phoned-in and questions were posed to the General. All matters raised were properly answered.
