Man arrested for dealing in drugs

NORTHERN CAPE – The alertness of the members of the Northern Cape Provincial Organised Crime led to the arrested of a 57-year-old man, subsequent to be found in possession of 100 units of mandrax tablets. Organised Crime Unit members followed the lead regarding a man who was in possession of mandrax tablets on his way to Douglas town, just outside Kimberley. The suspect was spotted passing right in front of the Northern Cape SAPS Provincial Offices, and he was arrested. He was arrested today, Thursday, 04 July 2019, after members conducted a body search on him and discovered mandrax in his possession.

The street value of mandrax is estimated to the R6 000-00. The suspect is expected to appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on a count of dealing in drugs.

The Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Risimati Shivuri commended, community members for sharing intelligence information which led to the arrest of the drug dealer.
