Man arrested for possession of drugs in Galeshewe

NORTHERN CAPE – Early morning raids on 12 January 2021 at suspected drug houses by members of Kimberley K9 and Provincial Crime Intelligence led to the arrest of a male suspect and the seizure of drugs and cash.
The relentless efforts by members of Kimberley K9 and Crime Intelligence to eradicate drugs from the streets resulted in a 29-year-old male being arrested in a house in Solly Legodi street, Stock n Stock in Galeshewe and TIK and CAT confiscated.
At 06:40 this morning, the members executed a search warrant at a premises in Solly Legodi Street where they found the drugs hidden inside a light bulb and the cash in a wardrobe. The street value of the drugs is estimated at R2 660-00 and cash amounting to R6 914-20 was also seized.
The cash found is believed to be the proceeds of the sale of the drugs. The suspect arrested and charged for possession of drugs and is expected to appear in the Galeshewe Magistrates court soon.
