Man arrested for possession of stolen property in Pretoria CBD

African male aged 43 years has been arrested by SAPS Pretoria Central Crime Prevention this afternoon, after he was caught in possession of suspected stolen laptops (22) and computer boxes (9).

Members of crime prevention received anonymous information about a man who buys and sells stolen laptops, computer boxes, and cellphones at electronic shop situated at CNR Central and Pretorius Street, in Pretoria CBD.

Police follow up on the information, led to the discovery of laptops and computer boxes with some serial numbers being filled off. Further, the suspect failed to produce trading certificate and purchase invoices.

The suspect is expected to appear in Pretoria Magistrate Court soon, on charges of possession of stolen property.

SAPS Pretoria Central Station Commander, Brigadier Moses Dladla has commended the members for swiftly reacting to the information provided, which led to the arrest of the suspect. He encouraged the public to continue in providing valuable information to police, to enable to fight crime, arresting perpetrators of crime and recovering the stolen properties.
