Gauteng mourns the passing of Dumi Masilela

Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation MEC, Faith Mazibuko, has learnt with sadness of the sudden passing of Rhythm City actor Dumi Masilela who died this morning after being shot during an attempted hijacking on Wednesday night.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a young multi-talented man whose life was stolen too soon. He contributed a lot both in sport and the arts and culture industry, as he started as professional soccer player who later changed careers into acting. We have lost a young talented man who still had a lot to contribute to the creative industries space.

My condolences to the Masilela family, friends and the Rhythm City family and fans. He will be greatly missed. May his soul rest in peace and his legacy be an inspiration to the nation and bring comfort to the loved ones he left behind, said the MEC.
