MEC Ismail Vadi hosts stakeholder engagement with Abnormal Freight industry, 15 Oct

Gauteng to engage Abnormal Freight Industry Players

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Ismail Vadi will on Monday, 15 October 2018, host a stakeholder engagement with the Abnormal Freight industry players in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni.

The Government recognises the need to constantly improve efficient management and administration of transport services to meet the growing demand for freight services and strengthen the Provincial economy.

This efficiency means strengthening infrastructure capacity to handle freight demand, ensuring safe sharing of road space and supporting innovation within the freight industry.

Hosted under the theme Transforming and Modernising Public Transport in Gauteng, the discussion seeks to create awareness on the importance of freight transport, in particular, as an enabler and catalyst for economic growth as well as job creation.

It further seeks to establish a framework of engagement between the industry and Government as well as to explore innovative solutions to challenges facing the industry.
