Graaff-reinet: The MEC for Community Safety and Transport in the Eastern Cape Province, Mr. Xolile Nqatha, is set to officially launch the Safety Month 2025 while simultaneously unveiling the Sarah Baartman District Safer Festive Season Operational Plan for 2025/2026 in Graaff-Reinet. The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 05 November 2025.
According to South African Police Service, the acting Sarah Baartman District Commissioner, Brigadier Asogran Naidoo, will declare the state of readiness for the upcoming festive season. This declaration will highlight the integration efforts with other stakeholders in combating and preventing serious and violent crimes. The focus will be on key areas such as gender-based violence and femicide, armed robberies, illicit economic activities, and the protection of wildlife and endangered species.
Members of the media have been invited to attend and cover the launch event, which will be held at the Botanical Gardens Club and Sports Bar, located at 34 Park Street, Graaff-Reinet, Sarah Baartman District. The event is set to begin at 09:00 on the specified date.
