Media Invitation: Law enforcement women reclaiming the streets: Port Elizabeth

EASTERN CAPE – Every year, in August, our country celebrates Women’s Month. The Call-To-Action for this year’s campaign is What Women Want born out of the 2019 Women’s month theme and seeks to identify multifaceted issues affecting today’s women from all sectors, race, statures and age.

On Saturday, 24 August 2019, the Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Liziwe Ntshinga will be leading operations conducted by women from the SAPS and other law enforcement agencies. Various simultaneous operations will be held in Humandsorp, Uitenhage, Motherwell and Mount Road clusters.

A march through the streets of Arcadia in Bethelsdorp will also be taking place where, once again the law enforcement women will be reclaiming the streets. Women from the community are also invited to join in the march in their numbers. The SAPS police band followed by the K9 and Mounted units as well as motorbikes will be leading the march in a show of force by the women of Nelson Mandela Bay.
