CAPE TOWN – Warrant Officer Dannie Botha was shot and injured on Sunday, 27 October 2019 in Muizenburg.

The 51-year-old officer and his partner were responding to car jacking incident and spotted the vehicle, fitting the description circulated, parked on the beach road.

The two officers approached the vehicle after which one occupant in the vehicle opened fire and shot Warrant Officer Botha, he was hit several times in the upper body.

The Minister of Police General, Bheki Cele will visit the officer who escaped with his life and who is recovering in hospital after undergoing surgery.
