The life of five year old Valentino Christiano Grootetjie was cut short, when he was struck in the head by a stray bullet, inside his parents’ house.

At the same time the five year old was shot, a 22-year-old man was also shot and seriously wounded around the same area.

He is recovering in hospital.

Two suspects have been arrested aged 24 and 29 in connection with the murder and attempted murder.

Police Minister, General Bheki Cele will pay his last respects to the slain 5 year old preschooler this Saturday.

Members of the media are invited to attend the funeral.
