Men nabbed with drugs valued at R100 00-00

DURBAN – On 16 December 2021, the police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit continued with their disruptive Festive Season Operations in Durban and surrounding areas.

The team conducted a sting operation in the building situated on Prince Street in Point. The police recovered 96 plastic bags of methcathinone, 12 plastic wrappings of cocaine powder, nine plastic bags of crystal meth, six large plastic packets of methcathinone and 358 ecstasy tablets. The drugs were found abandoned in the building.

The team proceeded to Smith Street and Rutherford Street in Point where three suspects aged between 34 and 50 were arrested after they were found with various drugs such as crystal meth and heroin. The recovered drugs have an estimated street value of R100 000-00. The suspects were charged for dealing and possession of drugs. The suspects appeared in the Durban Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
