Media briefing following urgent infrastructure CEM meeting

The Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga has requested that all Education MEC’s, Heads of Education Departments and officials responsible for infrastructure in provincial education departments, attend an urgent Council of Education Ministers (CEM) meeting in Gauteng tomorrow (Thursday, 22 March 2018).

The meeting is intended to enable the Minister to ensure that the sector responds to the President’s directives of providing him with an audit of sanitation facilities in schools within three months and thereafter a comprehensive plan to address shortcomings identified in the audit.

Members of the media are invited to a media briefing after this meeting, where the Minister and Provincial MEC’s will announce the way forward and answer questions from the media.
