MINISTER DLAMINI TO CLOSE CHILD PROTECTION WEEK CAMPAIGN IN AMERSFOORT – MPUMALANGA PROVINCE

The Minister of Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini, will on Saturday, June 04, close Child Protection Week in Amersfoort, Mpumalanga Province. The campaign which was launched under the theme: “Let Us All Protect Children to Move South Africa Forward” seeks to raise awareness on challenges faced by children with the aim to mobilize all stakeholders to assist government to strengthen the protection of children.

CPW also seeks among other things to protect, promote and create awareness about children’s rights as outlined in the Constitution and Children’s Act 38 of 2005 that children’s rights are also human rights and as such they must be recognised by all citizens.

This year’s CPW was supported by Tiger Brands. Tiger Brands said they were most concerned about issues pertaining to food security and good nutrition for children.
