Minister Pandor to deliver closing remarks at International Festival of Language and Culture

The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, will deliver the closing remarks at the 14th International Festival of Language and Culture (IFLC) at the Nelson Mandela Theatre in Johannesburg at 19:00 this evening.

Organised by the Horizon Education Trust, the IFLC is an annual celebration and showcase of the diversity of linguistic talents from across the world. Its purpose is to promote a better understanding of the world’s languages and cultures, and witness exceptional performance by students of diverse nationalities.

15 countries, including South Africa are participating in this year’s IFLC.

Other noticeable speakers on tonight’s programme include the Speaker of the National Assembly, Baleka Mbete, Minister of Women in the Presidency, Susan Shabangu, Deputy Minister of the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services, Hlengiwe Mkhize, Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Faith Mazibuko, Executive Mayor of the city of Johannesburg, Parks Tau, and ambassadors from various countries.
