Minister Rob Davies congratulates EXL Service Holdings on establishment of Cape Town Delivery Centre

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies has congratulated EXL Service Holdings on the establishment and soft launch of their Cape Town Delivery Centre, which currently employs 60 people but is expected to ramp up to 3 000 jobs over the next three years. The establishment of the EXL delivery centre follows an evaluation of global locations in Central Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Minister Davies said the arrival of EXL Services into the Business Process Services (BPS) sector is a welcome addition, not only as a new investor but also because of the value added jobs created that further moves South Africa up the value chain.

“The announcement reaffirms South Africa’s position as a credible Business Process Services (BPS) destination and follows on from the country’s recent nomination at the UK National Outsourcing Association (NOA) awards in the category, Best Offshore Destination of the Year”.

The Business Process Services (BPS) sector is one of the dti’s priority sectors attracting investment from English speaking source markets in particular the UK. A key aspect of the sector is the ability to create jobs in the 18-35 youth age group and provide skills transfer,” said Minister Davies the dti has recently concluded work on the shared services and Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) sub sectors and expects to see continued growth in the sector over the next five years. More international companies realise the quality of work delivered from South Africa, associated cost savings and ability to deliver complex processes.

Further enhancing the offshore BPS offering is government support in the form of incentives and investment promotion.

EXL is an American owned provider of Operations Management services providing global clients with analytics and business transformation assistance. In 2015 Forbes recognised EXL as one of the 100 Most Trustworthy companies in America.

EXL will officially launch it’s South African operations in London early next year.
