EASTERN CAPE – Mooiplaas Police detectives are investigating the murder and inquest of husband and his wife. It is alleged that the 40-year-old husband went to the homestead of his wife at Bola Locality, Mooiplaas Village outside East London. The wife and her family were preparing to bury their mother. The husband went to fetch his wife during the night of Friday, 26 September 2020.
The sister of the wife became worried and concerned when the couple did not return. She then went to their homestead within the same village on Saturday, 27 September 2020 at about 08:00. She knocked but there was no response. She called the community who forced the door open.
The bodies of both the husband and his wife were found with bullet wounds on their upper bodies. The fire arm was also found not far from the bodies of the deceased.
The husband was identified as Sithobile Velebhayi, aged 40 and the wife was identified as Nolukholo Velebhayi, also aged 40.
