More illegal firearms seized

DURBAN – Police officers in the KwaZulu-Natal have intensified operations to remove illegal firearms and ammunition from our streets. Illegal firearms are one of the contributors to violent crimes in the province and police officer across KwaZulu-Natal have been embarking on operations to disarm criminals.

Three suspects were arrested at Dannhauser for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in separate incidents. The first operation was conducted at Rutland where a 20-year-old man was arrested after he was found in illegal possession of a 9mm pistol.

The second suspect (30) was arrested at Mbabane after he was found in possession of three gas guns. The last suspect (21) was arrested at Poona after he was found in possession of ammunition without the required permits. All arrested suspects appeared in the Dannhauser Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
