Mothibistad regional court sentenced rapist 20 years behind bars

Rapist Pako Pakoeng will spend an effective 20 years behind bars, subsequent to be found guilty and sentenced by the Mothibistad Regional Court on the 17 March 2020. Pako was convicted for raping a 26-year-old woman at Batlharos village near Kuruman on the 26 January 2019.

On the day of the incident the victim was walking to her residence when Pako grabbed and raped her. The victim managed to break free and fled from Pako’s hands. However after breaking free thinking that she was safe, she was again accosted by another suspect who attempted to rape her.

She eventually broke free again and reported the matter to the police. Excellent police investigation resulted into Pako being sent to jail. The John Taolo Gaetsewe Cluster Commander, praised the investigating officer Warrant Officer Keitumetse Semetsa for good investigative work.
