Motorists slapped with fines during multidisciplinary operation in Jeffreys Bay

A multidisciplinary approached operation conducted on Wednesday, 14 November 2018, yielded positive results when 47 motorists were fined for traffic offences ranging from driving a motor vehicle without licence to driving unroadworthy vehicles valued nearly R49 000 in Jeffreys Bay yesterday.

Yesterday, 47 motorists received fines for contravening various traffic offences totalling R48 850. Five foreign nationals were arrested for contravening Immigration laws. Six people were arrested on warrants of arrest issued for failing to appear in court for their respective suspected criminal offences. Over hundred motor vehicles were searched during a four-hour operation.

Acting Cluster Commander in Humansdorp, Colonel Simon Swarts commended various government departments and said: This success is attributed to teamwork, and dedication displayed by officials during the operation. We are indeed striving towards a safer festive season”.
