Mount road police arrest suspect with a firearm

EASTERN CAPE – On Thursday, 29 April 2021, SAPS Mount Road Crime Prevention members were conducting focussed driven patrols concentrating on robberies in Old Grahamstown Road when they noticed three suspicious males standing opposite the court.

While observing them, one of the men became very nervous and was seen fiddling with his pants. On searching the male, a 9mm pistol was found in his pants. The serial number was filed off. He was arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

The 23-year-old suspect is expected to appear in court soon on the respective charges.
