MPUMALANGA – A Mpumalanga Attorney Themba Daniel Mabunda (48) was arrested on Monday by members of the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team for alleged theft.

It is alleged that in June 2020 Mabunda stole approximately R310 000-00 from the law firm’s trust account. The said amount was meant as deposit to initiate the transfer of a purchased property.

The accused appeared before the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court and he was granted R10 000-00 bail. The case has been transferred to the Nelspruit Commercial Crime Court where Mabunda is expected to make a follow-up appearance on 26 May 2021.
