The Northern Cape Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Koliswa Otola welcomed fifteen years jail term handed to Lubabalo Mongwaketse(25) for the murder of Keaoleboga Motlhankanye(23). Lubabalo was sentenced by the Northern Cape High Court on Tuesday, 12 June 2018.

Lubabalo was convicted and sentenced for the murder which he committed on April 2017. On the day in which he committed this crime, He accosted the deceased, and constrained him into a veld near Tsineng village in Kuruman, where he brutally stabbed him to death with a knife, broke his jaws, rips and arms. Subsequent to the commission this barbaric atrocity, Lubabalo undressed the deceased and concealed his clothes in the veld, and dumped the body near Tsineng police station.

Kealeboga’s body was found by a passer-by, who alerted the police. Lubabalo was arrested shortly after the police followed information which linked him with the murder. Consequent to his arrested he took the investigating officer into the veld and pointed out where he hid the deceased’s clothes.

The Northern Cape Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Koliswa commended the investigating officer Constable Khumoetsile Setlhauno for excellent investigation in this case and expressed her gratitude the to the National Prosecuting Authority by ensuring that Lubabalo was served with jail term. Criminals are not supposed to share the space with law abiding citizen, they deserve hefty jail term, to deter them from committing crime.
