WINDHOEK: The Namibia Press Agency ( Nampa ) and Russian State - owned news agency Sputnik News inked a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ) on Monday , intending to increase news and information cooperation between the two countries . The agreement will facilitate the exchange of news coverage between the two news organisations regarding events in Namibia and Russia . Under the MoU , both news agencies will share news stories to provide broader coverage of events in their respective countries . The collaboration also includes provisions for the exchange of employees , allowing staff members from each agency to gain experience working in the partner country . Nampa Chief Executive Officer , Linus Chata in a virtual meeting expressed enthusiasm about the agreement , highlighting the opportunity to present Namibia ' s perspective through this partnership . ' The collaboration aims to enhance media coverage and foster a better exchange of information between Namibia and Russia ,' he said . On his part , Sputnik N ews Director General , Vasily Pushkov welcomed the deal , noting that many Russians have limited knowledge of Africa , including Namibia .
