Narcotics dog sniffs out drugs, suspect nabbed in Kimberley

NORTHERN CAPE – The SAPS Kimberley K9 units’ narcotics dog, Eddie (under command of his dog handler Sgt Benjamin Appie) sniffed out Madrax from a cupboard when police raided a house in Soul City, Galeshewe, earlier this morning, 19 January 2021.
The Kimberley K9 unit and the Provincial Crime Intelligence followed up on information and found 142 full and 58 half Mandrax tablets, with an estimated street value of R11 000 at the premises. The adult male suspect was arrested for allegedly dealing in drugs. The suspect should be appearing in the Galeshewe Magistrates Court soon.
Brigadiers’ Tip Brink, Bossie Jacobs, Merle Coghlan and Mojapela Moreki commended the members for their commitment and loyalty during the current Covid-19 operations and also thanked the community for their assistance that led to this superb arrest. The investigation continues.
