News: Drugs seized from suspects during operations

DURBAN Police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Task Team conducted operations in the Amanzimtoti policing precinct to deal with reports of drug dealing. The police officers proceeded to identified locations to follow up on intelligence with regards to drugs.

During the operation, they arrested two suspects who were found in possession of drugs. A total of 14 plastic packets containing crystal meth, mandrax tablets and 40 capsules containing heroin were seized from the suspects. Cash suspected to be the proceeds of drug dealing were also seized during the operation. Two suspects, aged 25 and 29 will appear in the Amanzimtoti Magistrate’s Court today.
