News: Festive Season operations yielded good results over the weekend

KING WILLIAMS TOWN – Police arrested over 40 suspects aged between 22 and 53 years over the weekend. These arrest comes after police conducted various operations around King William’s Town and surrounding areas. The suspects were arrested for different crimes ranging from common assault, rape, contravention of protection order, burglary and theft, driving under the influence of alcohol, drunk and disorderly, malicious damage to property and possession of drugs. Police also intensify a high visibility in the CBD, pay-out points, ATMs and roadblock was conducted as part of preventing crime and ensuring that our citizens are safe and secure.

Detectives were also on operations during the night in tracing the suspects on cases that were opened beginning of January and all wanted suspects. They worked till this morning and arrested fifteen (15) suspects on various crimes.

All suspects will appear in various Courts today and tomorrow.

King William’s Town SAPS Cluster Commander, Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga applauded the members for their excellent work and encouraged them to continue to arrest these criminals. We will continue intensifying high visibility to ensure that our communities are safe and secured at all times he added.
